About TESS

Tess, formerly known as Speedy Go, is a sleek, high-performance 24m / 80” sloop. She was built in France by the MAG shipyard in 1986. Her exterior is the splendid handiwork of Martin Francis, a well-known naval architect who has given life to very important mega yachts such as motor yacht “A”.
This beautiful classic vessel, with a maximum beam of 5.75 m and a draft of 3.8 m, is powered by a 250 hp Mercedes engine which gives a maximum speed of 10 knots. Her sailing performance is by virtue of her Sloop navigation system, equipped with a mast and a sail surface of over 800 square metres. She’s a very fast sailing yacht!

Her exterior design, a typical reminder of the wonderful 80s, is the perfect place to rest and enjoy the sun while remaining in close to the sea. Boarding takes place from an easy-access platform located at the far stern. You are greeted on arrival by the crew and a refreshing welcome cocktail served in the comfortable dining area located in the centre of the guest cockpit. Covered by a sprayhood and a large bimini, the cockpit can accommodate up to 8 guests. It is also a perfect place to read or simply enjoy sailing.

Being a flush deck, the superstructure is practically absent, except for a few centimetres in the central part of the boat. In fact, all the light inside is owed to 12 skylights located in the common areas and the guest cabins. Thanks to the almost total absence of a superstructure, practically the entire boat is perfect for lying down to relax, sunbathe, read a good book or simply enjoy the breeze and the scent of the sea. The boat has 8 sun loungers that can be easily folded away keeping the deck uncluttered.

From the cockpit, through the main companionway, you access the dinette, consisting of a table with double sofas, aperitif area with low table and TV. This area is characterized by the specific design choices made during the last refit which took place in 2019. The floor is a monoblock of brick Linoleum, the wallpaper has a wicker-like texture and the beautiful Artemide vintage lamps are a stand out feature on the walls.

From the dinette, proceeding towards the bow, you enter the main guest area. We find 3 cabins, the master with double bed and side sofa, and two mirrored triples, each with a French bed, a single and a bunk third bed. The final cabin is located aft of the dinette, with a queen size bed. All cabins have private bathrooms. The boat can comfortably accommodate a maximum of 8 people in its 4 cabins.

Air conditioning is present in all rooms. The kitchen is open and located aft of the dinette, port side. Beyond the galley is the crew area and chart table. The crew, consisting of Commander, Chef and sailor/steward have been carefully selected and are ready to satisfy Tess’s guests’ every need.

In winter 2023/2024 the vessel had a deep 8 months refit in Malta. New sails, new mast, renewed teak deck, total paintings.
