Supporting a sustainable industry at ASMEX

Ocean Alliance’s team attended the 2018 edition of Australian Superyacht, Marine Export and Commercial Marine Conference (ASMEX) in May.  Held at the Intercontinental Sanctuary Cove just prior to the boat show, the two-day conference focused on Australia’s assets and their power in the global marketplace.

Representatives of Tourism Australia gave a very informative presentation on the strategy and successes of the recent Crocodile Dundee Superbowl campaign in America.  Peter Mahony from Benetti Asia and Kirran Jay Haslam from Princess Yachts also provided great insight into the trends in the market and leading strategies to capture the yacht Owner.  Andrea Francolini dazzled the audience with his imagery and Kitty McGown presented the most comprehensive overview of the American market.

Part of the extensive social programme included the annual awards and SILENTWORLD was the winner of the inaugural Voyager Award for their 2017 expedition to Kenn Reef.  Never was there a more deserving Owner, yacht, captain and crew.

The conference was very positive about the natural assets of Australia whilst explaining the pathways to growth.

Ocean Alliance was an official sponsor of the event providing sustainable water bottles to each delegate in lieu of the usual single-use plastic bottles.  Aside from social responsibility being at the core of the Ocean Alliance team, to maximise the natural assets so alluring in Australia, we must protect them and their inhabitants.  In doing so, we hopefully can improve the health of the planet and continue to see growth in the industry. We would like to congratulate the team at Superyacht Australia and look forward to another exciting event in 2019.
